| Tropical Summary | 6:00 pm | 8th March,2010 |
No significant change in the weather pattern is anticipated over the next 2-4days. The frontal system is forecasted to linger, maintaining cloudiness, scattered showers and rain over the northern islands into tomorrow. At the same time, drier and more stable conditions will allow for sunny conditions over most of the southern Windward Islands tomorrow. The exception being Trinidad and Tobago, where a marginal increase in moisture levels can trigger a few showers. Moisture filtering as far north as Barbados can trigger brief early morning showers. Meanwhile the ridge pattern will continue to dominate the weather over the area as the axis remains to the north throughout the week. By Thursday a low level trough emanating from the frontal boundary will weaken as it moves across the chain. However lack of moisture levels will keep convection at a minimum. Southeasterly to easterly breezes averaging 15 kts will continue to flow across the southern islands while lighter 5 to10 kt winds is anticipated over the north. Until the weekend commences northerly swells are forecasted to maintain moderate to rough seas.
